“Hey Cortana” on Windows 10 is awesome, but can also be irritating at times

One of my favorite features of Windows 10 is “Hey Cortana,” which (if you’re not already aware) allows you to simply say “Hey, Cortana” and have her do stuff.

Well, as it turns out, one of my favorite features with Microsoft’s personal assistant is also one of the most irritating at times. Oh, it’s not really a problem for the most part, but I’ve noticed that every now and again, Cortana will listen to my conversations, whether it’s on the phone or otherwise, and will pop up on the PC proudly proclaiming that she did not understand me or she does various Bing searches (hey, free Bing search credits, but still).

The only fix I’ve discovered for this is to completely turn off my microphone, and then turn it back on whenever I decide I want to use “Hey, Cortana” again. Which I’m obviously going to do, because let’s face it, talking to your computer is awesome.

Are there any odd quirks or behaviors you’ve found in Cortana or have you experienced this same thing yourself? If so, let us know in the comments or via our forums!
