Microsoft Announces Windows 9 Event Happening on September 30

If we needed a confirmation of when exactly Microsoft was going to announce its upcoming Windows 9 operating system, this is about as close as we’re going to get for now.

The company has sent out press invites for an event at San Francisco on Sep 30th. While it doesn’t specifically mention Windows 9, the invitation does tease a discussion about “what’s next for Windows and the enterprise,” which we can almost discern means something about Windows 9 since that’s when we’ve known Microsoft was planning to unveil the public preview of the new OS.

There have been a number of leaks recently from a build 9834 which revealed some new features for the next iteration of the tablet and PC OS, including Wi-Fi and Storage Sense, the arrival of Cortana on Windows, new videos, and even a few screenshots.

We’ll be covering this event as we look forward to the future of Windows and where the world’s most widely used OS goes from here. What do you look forward to seeing the most?
