Microsoft Giving Windows “Phone” 6.5 Support Forums the Axe on November 6

We already knew that Windows Phone 7.8 was reaching the end of its life, but another old Windows operating system is also seeing its support come to an end, only this time it’s on the Microsoft Support Forums.

This announcement from yesterday caught my eye when I logged into the support forums to assist someoene today. Windows “Phone” 6.5 (more commonly referred to Windows Mobile 6.5, hence the quotations) support forums and communities for earlier versions are set to get axed by November 6.

While it’s understandable to see Microsoft taking these forums down — and quite frankly surprising that they kept them up for this long — it’s still sad to see a big piece of Windows history go.

For those of you who love your Lumias, your HTC Ones, or your Samsungs, but every now and then you like to take out and enjoy your old Windows Mobile device, you can always find a great deal of support here on 1800Pocket/PC.

Do you still have your Windows Mobile phone?
