Viber VoIP and Messaging App for Windows Tablets and PCs Gains Video Calls

Viber for Windows Phone wasn’t the only update to hit the Windows ecosystem this morning. In addition to that update, Viber has also released support for video calls on the Windows 8.1 tablet and PC version of its app, which saw its last update on the platform back in September.

Viber, which has 209 million active users, has been slowly and steadily releasing new features for Windows smartphones, PCs, and tablets. While the company has yet to release its newly-launched gaming platform on Windows, many of its other features that were originally exclusive to iOS and Android have been released.

In addition to the video calls, Viber’s latest update also adds the following:

  • Viber Out: call non-Viber mobile and landline numbers at low rates
  • Easily see all photos in a chat by swiping
  • New Emoticons
  • Support right-to-left languages

You can get the new Viber for Windows via the Windows Store. Post your thoughts on the new update in the comments below.
