Like most endless runners, the object of the game is to avoid obstacles in your path while you accomplish Goals . In Turbo Bugs – Survival Run, these obstacles take the form of large rocks on the sides of the road, logs laying across the road and more (Of course, you are a bug, so naturally these obstacles would be nothing more than tiny twigs and rocks to a human being if it were based in reality). You’ll have to jump or swipe to avoid some obstacles and obtain fruit. Melons will allow you to save yourself after you perish and unlock new bugs, while cherries serve as a way to purchase special abilities for your bug character.
The game is built with some elements of a free to play model; via in-app purchases, you can purchase more cherries or melons with real cash if you feel you need a bigger advantage in the game.
As mentioned, there are multiple bug characters and each bug has his or her own special powers. These powers are enhanced by power-ups that you can obtain. One of the most notable features of the game is the ability to play socially with your friends, something many endless runners have overlooked.
The 3D graphics and high-quality sound effects immerse you in the world of the tiny. The game itself looks and feels almost like building simulator Bug Village in an endless runner setting, which isn’t a bad thing at all. Despite the sharp graphics and sound, the game ran flawlessly on every device I tried, and yes, that includes low memory devices.
While there are quite a few (and growing in number) endless runners on Windows Phone, Turbo Bugs stands apart from the crowd with its quirky bug theme, it’s bright and colorful environments and animation, and its replay value. Turbo Bugs- Survival Run is also perfect for children using Kid’s Corner as well as adult gamers alike.
