There’s no question that French developer Rudy Huyn has earned his place at the top of the Windows Phone pedestal. The developer behind hit apps such as Instagram client 6tag, Tinder app 6tin and the 6snap Snapchat app has surpassed the 15 million download mark on the platform.
15,000,000 downloads! Thanks all! You'e changed my life. Will continue to give love to Windows Phone! http://t.co/Z0X52y76Cl

This is a massive achievement for not only Huyn but for the Windows Phone platform as well. It shows what a dedicated developer can accomplish and gives hope that maybe more developers out there will start to eye Windows Phone with the same kind of passion.
Regarding Windows 8.1, Rudy says he’s excited most about the universal apps that function across PC, tablet and phone:
I love the universal apps, which are a big part of 8.1. I can easily launch an app on Windows Phone and Windows without having to create two apps for the two platforms. That saves me a lot of time. It also means development is more efficient, and users experience a synchronized experience, no matter which device they use. I can use my application on Windows Phone and continue right where I left off on my tablet or PC. Code sharing saves me time, too; I recently launched a new universal app for a company with 82 percent shared code. We saved almost three weeks of work thanks to universal apps!
Huyn has made enough off of Windows Phone apps alone to be able to quit his day job and code for the platform full time.
“A developer is an artist,” said Huyn. “Like an artist, a developer starts with a blank canvas and tools, creates a new experience for users, and responds emotionally to what he or she creates. Windows 8.1 is the artists’ toolbox; it gives developers the tools to create immersive works of art.”
Congrats to Rudy from 1800PPC and the entire Windows Phone community!
