While Angry Birds is a very popular game series on Windows Phone and the series has amassed huge appeal in the world of live tiles, Rovio apparently doesn’t think it’s worth the time and effort to support the platform, at least initially.
When asked about the game coming to Windows Phone, Rovio’s support apparently said:
and thanks for contacting us!
Unfortunately, Angry Birds 2 will not be released for Windows Phones. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope that you have a chance to play the game on one of the supported platforms, such as Android or iOS!

This will undoubtedly come as a disappointment to many fans of the series, but it’s not quite a surprise to long-time supporters of the Windows platform. It took Rovio two years to finally bring the original Angry Birds game to Windows smartphones back in 2011. The game was initially released in 2009 on other platforms. Hopefully history isn’t repeating itself here.
The Windows 10 platform allows developers to port iOS and Android code into the Windows ecosystem, so hopefully this will be one issue we’ll see go by the wayside as time goes on. In a perfect world, Windows users will be able to get games, updates, and features at or about the same time as users on iOS and Android.
