New Xbox Music for Windows Phone Update Focuses on “Improving Quality”

Microsoft has just released an update for its Xbox Music application that puts a focus on “improving quality” for Windows Phone users, something that most of us probably agree is sorely needed. The full changelog reads:

This release we focused on improving quality — Among other important bug fixes, version 2.6.288 prevents an unexpected app exit that could happen when playing music during collection sync! We hope this update makes your music listening just a little bit smoother!

I actually ran into a problem last night where Xbox Music became completely unresponsive on my Lumia 822 and continued to stutter while I was playing music (not streaming). I couldn’t confirm whether this was Xbox Music or my device itself, however, because I experience a similar problem sometimes when I try to stream music via Pandora.

Other users have reported that Xbox Music doesn’t load their music or continues to lag when attempting to unlock the phone while Xbox Music is open in the foreground. Post any additional issues you experience in the comments below. For now, you can use the QR code to update Xbox Music on your device.

  2. Seems a Little smoother. Buzz back like 2 updates ago (this it’s update 10 right? What a mess) so it’s not getting “better” – still FAR from, par with,WP8, still laggy, still feels cheap, still wrong decision Microsoft. 10(!) updates and still not able to rebuild what you destroyed.
Does still ignore some covers. Does not recognize “The 88” haha
