Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore: “Office Team Has Not Forgotten About Windows Phone”

If you were among the many Windows Phone users who were frustrated about the lack of substantial news regarding future plans for Office for Windows Phone, you’re not alone, and Joe Belfiore, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of its Operating Systems Group, has heard the comments loud and clear.

As reported by our friends at WC, Belfiore posted on his Weibo account that he has received “comments and letters” from uses that have been “frustrated seeing Microsoft launch applications like Office for iOS and Android platforms, without accompanying news around what will happen on Windows Phone.”

“I want to assure you that our Office team has not forgotten Windows Phone – we’re just aligning all of our news and announcements to a single event. You’ll hear much more about what we have planned before Chinese New Year.”

The Chinese New Year falls on February 19, which means we won’t have long to wait for the news to drop. Who knows? We might even see something hinted or unveiled at this month’s Windows 10 event.
