Age of Empires: Castle Siege Now Available on Windows and Windows Phone Store (in Private Beta)

Yesterday, 1800PPC posted an article about the new Age of Empires: Castle Siege and it’s impending arrival on Windows and Windows Phone, but there was one thing we couldn’t nail down, and that was an official release date.

Well the release date is today (at least for the private beta, as mentioned in Update 2 below), as the game and its Xbox Live Achievements are now available in the Windows Phone Store and Windows Store. We haven’t been able to locate the latter yet, but the description of the game itself suggests it’ll be there:

Guide your empire through the Medieval Era on your Windows PC or touch screen device. Choose from one of several civilizations, including the Britons, Teutons, and Kievan Rus. Upgrade your keep, fortify your walls, and garrison defensive troops to protect yourself from marauders. Then, train an army to raid other cities, and command them in battle to dismantle your opponents’ defenses.

Ready to play? You can download it on Windows Phone using the QR code in this article (tap on the code for direct download) or find it by searching the Windows Store.

Update: It seems the game is not available in the UK and may not be available in other regions outside of the U.S. If it’s available or not available in your region, please let us know in the comments.

Update 2: It seems the release mentioned in this article is actually a private beta. Thanks to everyone for sending this in!
